Climax Mine Update
Read
Today we found a story on Reuters out of India that mentioned Climax Mine:
“…
molybdenum prices have also responded
strongly to increased Chinese imports and an improved market
conditions in the developed world, allowing Freeport to study
the restart of its Climax molybdenum mine in Leadville,
Colorado.
“It is probably the most attractive molybdenum project in
the world,” Adkerson said. “The project is really a home run at
today’s molybdenum prices.”
The project is expected to take two summer construction
periods to complete.
The initial phase of the Climax restart is expected to
result in large-scale production of 30 million lbs per year,
with future growth opportunities that could expand output by as
much as 60 million lbs.”
