Please note I will post images of the art displayed once I have permission from the artists.

The first in many I hope. There are a handful of us artists that braved the cold air tonight. I will have photos posted tomorrow. Some amazing artists are hidden in this little town. One lady, Roxanne, sang two songs her first time playing guitar in public and her first written songs. Her art is much like mine inspired by the change a horrible accident made to her life. She’s also creates Guardian Angel charms for bicyclist. She was wonderful to talk to and I loved her music and guardian angels. Sometimes tragedy helps us to find a part of ourself we didn’t know existed.

There was some etchings and water colors by a wonderful artist (Ursula Gilgulin) who has been teaching art at Colorado Mountain College since 1973. Her watercolors were beautiful you can tell she is a professional. I loved her charcoal of a person lying down. But what really fascinated me were the etchings. I plan on trying to learn how these etchings work. The detail were beautiful! I love it when I find a medium I really haven’t experienced myself.

Which brings me to the mixed media that was on display. My favorite is the VW Art piece it actually has an old Van VW painting on the front with the actual VW as part of the piece. This artist had another couple of beautiful mixed medium pieces that were fascinating.

Art tells story, and I was able to listen to why the different artists came to be artist. Rachelle and I seemed to be the two that were showing our art for the first time. I loved her post cards. She had one with a rainbow that was superb. Another you can see the rays of the sun coming down through the aspen trees. I hope to take a hiking trip with her and share an artists day out, that will have to wait until spring for me though.

I was pleased people liked my arte, of course my Leadville Colorado Print was a favorite, and was able to share my process with Steve Sunday a local well known photographer.

Steve Sunday has new postcards at Provin’ Grounds and as always his photography is phenomenal. Check it out Here.

I have to add one more artist who’s work was fantastic Christian Hinterman. She is a musician, artist, and photographer who had watercolor and ink prints on display that were beautiful. Viewing her website will be worth your while www.cloudtreecreations.com.

Be sure to visit the Provin’ Grounds Coffee House in Leadville Colorado to see images from the artists who were present.

There are a couple of more artists but I need to get their names and information they had no business cards. I am returning to the coffee house tomorrow to take photos.

I talked with Briana and hope we can continue to grow and this is the first of many art exhibits. We will grow because the talent I have seen in this town is absolutely is amazing. You cannot live in this town and not be touched somehow by the beauty that surrounds you.

Thank you Provin’ Grounds for giving us a space to show our work.
