Leadville Colorado Artist L'chik
My real name is Laura, but I sign all my art L’Chik taking advantage of the great maiden name I was born with. I have always enjoyed art, creating it, studying art history, but somehow along my adult path I stumbled and lost my creative edge. It took two years and a life changing event for me to embrace the art I create. Oftentimes it tells a story.
For instance the image I have posted here “Calm Before the Storm” is derived from a woman who has held in hurt and anger and the storm that comes after we let those feelings go. It represents myself 10 years ago when I was so lost as to who I am.
